INDOMIE SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIPS NEWS FROM THE STATES | (2008-12-17 )

ANAMBRA STATE
  4 schools namely , Bishop Crowther Seminary(BCS), Dennis Memorial (DMGS), Christ the King College( CKC)and Regal Secondary school (RSS)participated in State preliminaries held at the Regal college grounds Nri, Awka.
  The series was played on a one leg round robin format , withn 6 matches sceduled over 3 days.

  DMGS vs REGAL Dmgs 50 all out in 20 overs, N Nwankwo 4 for 6 in 5 overs, Y Okoye 3 for 8 in 5 overs
  Regal 51 for 1 in 10 overs, E Eze 15 not out, C Ikeagu 11 not out.
  Regal won by 9 wickets.
 
  Match 2 CKC vs BCS CKC 25 all out in 19 overs , the damage inflicted by C Mogekwe 3/1 in 4 overs , E Odenigwe 3/3 in 3 overs.BCS 23 for 2 wickets won by 8 wickets.
  MATCH 3 , DMGS/ CKC
  DMGS 51 /10 in 13 overs, N Obidike 4\6 in 4 overs, O Tabansi 3/ 15, O Obidike 2/ 7,
  CKC 49 / 10 in 17 overs, K Amaechina4/ 6 , O Obi 2 /3 , E Anyegwuacha 2/5. DMGS won by 2 runs.

  CKC 52 all out in 20 0vers, I OKEKE 3/1 , I IBEATU 3/5. RSS 53/4 in 15 overs , E EZE 32, N Obidike 2/4. Regal won by 6 wickets.

  Favourites BCS posted a 10 wicket victory over Regal. Batting first Regal were 31 all out in 21 overs. E Odenigbo 3/5, N Obiechina 2/2 and 12 years old C Mgbojikwe took 1 wicket for no run in 5 maiden overs !

  Bishop Crowther Seminary emerged winners with another emphatic 10 wicket victory over DMGS
 whose score of 47 runs all out was overtaken by C Nwankwo 31 not out and D Okoye 9 not out.
 
  ABIA STATE
  Indomie brought cricket to sleepy Umuahia as Federal Government College Umuahia attempt to stage a come back to the cricket playing fraternity after a 40 year absence. GCU won their match against Afara Boys Technical school by 15 runs - GCU 52/10 , E Nwoko 4/18, Afara 37/10, O Ahamefula 4/18, K Ifeanyi 4/15.
 
  RIVERS STATE
  The gborokiri water side was quiet this time around as the Indomie train came visiting. Enitona lost by 6 wickets to visiting Stella Maris College. Scores Stella Maris 142/ 8 in 25 overs,H Kamari 45, H Jaja 38 and Kaizer 30 not out . Kamari 5 wickets for 1 run and Benjamin 4 for 3 restricted Enitona to 10 runs all out. Stella Maris won by 132 runs to emerge State Champions.
 
  IMO STATE
  The beautiful grounds of Government Secondary School Owerri was the venue of Imo State preliminary rounds which had the hosts GSS, Premier Secondary School and Archdeacon Dennis Secondary school playing out a one leg round robin.
  GSS beat Premier by 12 runs . Scores; GSS 91 /10 Nze Onyeka 3/5 , V Madueke 2/8; PSS 79/10, N Onyekachi 18,O Agusi 4/1. They went on to win their second game against Archdeacon Dennis Secondary school by 6 wickets . Scores';ADM 42 all out , K Chiaka 3/11, O Agusi 4/4 and T Osuji 2/3 were the wicket takers. GSS 48/4 Onyeka 15 ;O Chibueze 3/4
 PSS beat ADS by 6 wickets. Scores\ ADM 79 all out , Nze Penneth 23, E Osuji 4/9 , C Onwuliri 3/10 , M Odaguzo 2/7. PSS 84/4 Nze Onyekachi 16; O Chibueze 2/13.
