Nigeria notched up its second win at the on-going ICC-Africa World Cricket League(WCL)
Division 2 at Benoni, South Africa with Endurance Ofem hitting a century for his country.
Swaziland won the toss and put Nigeria in to bat and took three quick wickets. Reeling
at 9 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 7 overs, the pair of Endurance Ofem and Kunle Adegbola
dug deep and completely turned the match around helping the team to reach 234 runs for
7 wickets in 50 overs. Both batsmen recorded landmark scores for their country with Ofem
finishing on 100 while Adegbola scored 83.
In reply the Swazis made 132 runs all out losing by 102 runs with young debutant Oluseye
Olympio claiming 4 wickets for 23 runs in his 10 overs and emerging as the most successful
Nigerian bowler in the match. He was supported by Joshua Ogunlola who finished with 2 for
22 in 10 overs, Wale Adeoye 2 for 7 in 2.3 overs, Kunle Adegbola 1 for 10 in 8 overs and
Endurance Ofem with 1 for 5 in 1 over.
The Nigerian team continues its campaign in the tournament today with a match against
tournament favourites, Botswana.
