Abuja will this weekend play host to two events of the Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF).
First, the tussle to determine the foremost club in the country begins on Friday as the
3rd National Cricket Club Championships begins at the National Stadium Cricket oval
with four clubs; Ibeju Lekki Cricket Club (ILCC) of Lagos, Whales Cricket Club of Port
Harcourt, Integrity Force cricket Club of Benin and Cricket Club of Abuja lock horns.
On Friday 27th June, Cricket Club of Abuja (CCA) clashes with Ibeju-Lekki Cricket Club
(ILCC) in the first semi-final while next day, Integrity Force CC squares up with Whales
Cricket Club of Port Harcourt.
The winners of the two matches meet in the final match on Sunday 29th June, 2009.
On Saturday 28th June, 2008, the NCF AGM will also hold in Abuja with delegates
from 18 states expected to attend. The AGM will be immediately followed by a Develop-
ment Seminar to share the ideas from the Africa Cricket Association Seminar that
held last month at Benoni, South Africa.
The President of the NCF, Mr. Kwesi Sagoe is expected to present a report on the activities
of the Federation to the delegates while the Audited Accounts of the Federation for the
year ended 31st December, 2007 are also expected to be approved.
The NCF Development Seminar will be anchored by the ICC-Africa Regional Development
Officer, Mr. Olisa Egwuatu.
