SAGOE ELECTED REGIONAL DIRECTOR FOR NORTH-WEST AFRICA ON ACA BOARD | (2008-06-22 )

The President of the Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF), Kwesi Sagoe has been elected

Regional Director on the Board of the Africa Cricket Association (ACA) representing

North & West Africa at its recent Annual General Meeting held in Benoni, South Africa.

 

North/West Africa is made of the following countries; Cameroon, Gambia, Ghana,

Mali, Morocco, Sierra Leone and Nigeria.

 

The AGM had approved a new constitution for the body with Regional Directors for

each of the three constituent regions. Thus Dr Andrew Shawa, Chairman of the

Zambia Cricket Union (ZCU) was elected Regional Director for Southern Africa while

Dr Kato Sebbaale, Chairman of the Uganda Cricket Association was elected for

East Africa.

 

The elections heralded a successful AGM that was immediately followed by a two-day

ICC-Africa Development Seminar attended by ICC Global Development Manager, Tim

Anderson.

 

The ACA AGM was chaired by Peter Chingoka, Chairman of the Zimbabwe Cricket

Association and had the Chairman of the United Cricket Board of South Africa, Gerald

Majola in attendance.

 

Also present among others were Cassim Suliman, CEO of ACA and Regional Development

Manager for ICC-Africa, Samir Inamdar, Chairman, Cricket Kenya, Tim Khumalo, ACA 

Development Director and Tom Tikolo, CEO Cricket Kenya and ACA Tournament

Director.
