29 NIGERIAN COACHES CERTIFIED BY ICC | (2008-05-12 )

The Nigeria Cricket Federation has issued a statement to the effect that twenty-four Nigerian

cricket coaches have passed coaching certificate exams held in February and April, 2008.

 

The statement revealed that while thirteen coaches were successful at the Level 1 stage that

held in Owerri, Imo State from 28th April to 1st May, 2008; whilst another eleven passed

the Level 2 stage which held earlier in Lagos from the 25th to 29th February, 2008.

 

The successful Level 1 coaches are; Chinedu Ifemefuna, Olympia Mbakwem, Frederick Sagay,

Oluwadolapo Gafar, Musibau Ajayi, Blessing Okoro, Jerry Omorogbe, Chimezie Onwubiko,

Oluwaseun Salako, Rawlings Yenigha, Kingsley Onyekoha, Nwabugwu Chukuezi and George Izulu.

 

The new Level 2 coaches are; Augustine Areghan, Cyril Musa, Anthony Ajaelu, John Tamuno,

Kehinde Olanbiwonu, Onome Oghenekevwe, Taiwo Oladunjoye, Newton Ikenwaso, Joseph Eshua,

Anthony Ayamah and Tonye Timinade.

 

The courses leading to the certification of the coaches and the evaluation of the exams held were

handled by the North-West Africa Regional Development Co-ordinator, Olisa Egwuatu.

 

It is the NCF’s objective to increase both coaching and umpiring capacity within the country by

getting more Nigerian coaches and umpires certificated by the ICC.
