HOST DEFEATS MOROCCO AT ICC-ACA NORTH-WEST U-15 BOYS CRICKET TOURNAMENT IN IBADAN
Sesan Adedeji was a delight to watch as he used his bat to score 101 runs off 57 balls for Nigeria’s U-15 side against their opponents from Morocco at the Ibadan Cricket Ground,Ibadan,Oyo state.
The Seyi Sonde tutored side batted first posting 345 runs for loss of 5 wickets in 35 overs with the quartet of Kelechi Duru(85 runs),Adogun Chisom(51 runs),Adiamo Mojeed(27 runs not out) and Captain Awosanmi Kunle(19 runs not out) ensured Benbella Houcine’s 2 wickets amounted for nothing.
The duo of Awosanmi Kunle 6 wickets,3 maidens,7 overs,4 runs and Kelechi Duru 2 wickets,4 overs,11 runs continued from where they stopped in the first innings by reducing the young Moroccans to 34 runs for 10 wickets lost.
Following their opening game victory over their North-African opponents Nigeria are second on the log behind West African Neighbours Ghana who won their 2 games against Cameroon and Morocco at the Liberty Stadium Cricket Ground.
Team Manager of the Nigerian U-15 boys Emmanuel Okwudili who spoke with Ajidagba Oluwaseun said “Thou we met an easier opposition today but tougher challenges lies ahead and I am sure of the calibre of players we have they are fired up for any challenge that might come their way during the course of the competition”.
