NCF invites 29 to National Trails ahead of NWACC 2008. | (2008-03-08 )

The Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) has invited twenty-nine (29) cricketers for trials

ahead of the North West Africa Cricket Championships to be hosted by Nigeria from

1st to 11th April, 2008. Nigeria won the first edition of the championship last June

in Banjul, The Gambia.

 

Releasing the list to the public, the 2nd Vice- President and Technical Committee

Chairman, Mr. Ewa Henshaw remarked that the trials will take place at Tafawa Balewa

Square Oval on 14th and 15th March, 2008. He also stated that the list had been

carefully screened to present the best available players for selection ahead of the

NWACC tournament.

 

The list is as follows:

Saheed Akolade, Jerry Omoregbe and Yusuf Awobola were part of the Nigerian Under-19 squad

that took part in the Under-19 African zonal qualifiers in South Africa last year and continue to

progress in their cricket development.
